Indoor Exhibits

  • See Agricultural Section General Rules.
  • All exhibits must be presented to entering committee between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20th, 2025. No exhibits will be accepted after this time.
  • Members must be enrolled in the project to exhibit. Exhibits must meet requirements as stated in the 4-H project book. Members must enter exhibits as listed under the project in this catalog to be eligible for judging. All exhibits must be current years’ work and done by the exhibitor. Self-determined projects MUST have the self-determined record form #100.SD-1 with it or it will be disqualified.
  • Member may exhibit only ONE item per class. In case a member is taking more than one year of a project, member may exhibit only the last year. (Example: Member enrolled in Photography I and II may exhibit only Photography II.)
  • Entry forms for indoor 4-H projects are found in the form section of this book. Mail the form to the county extension office. No late entries will be accepted.
  • The Eddy County Fair will not be responsible for loss or damage to exhibits, but all precautions will be taken.
  • **Exhibits and/or ribbons may be removed from the exhibit room Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Except for 1st and 2nd place. Any items not picked up will be taken to the Eddy County Extension Office. Items left after November 15 will become the property of the Extension Office and will be disposed of.
  • Awards:
    • Ribbons will be awarded to the first eight articles in each class or as designated by the judge. Premium money will be awarded to top placing projects.
    • Sweepstakes and Alternate Sweepstakes will be selected from 1st place exhibits. All awards are left to the discretion of the judges and superintendents.
    • Awards may be withheld because of unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of the exhibitor or representative of exhibitor.
  • New Mexico State Fair will allow each county to bring only the first place exhibits from county fairs or achievement days in each class. Therefore, each county may enter only one exhibit per class, per section, novice, junior, or senior. SF – indicates first place articles eligible for State Fair exhibit. First and Second place articles may be retained for exhibit at the Eastern New Mexico State Fair, unless the exhibitor claims them at release time. Ceramics and Rockets will not be taken to ENMSF or NMSF.
  • Items to go to NMSF and ENMSF
    • If an item weighs more than 40 lbs. or is more than 3 feet in any direction, the Eddy County Extension Office will not be responsible for getting that object to and from Albuquerque or Roswell. We will, however, see that the proper paperwork is done for that item to be entered. Parents or members may take such items to the fairs on entry day and pick them up on release day.
    • Posters may be no larger than 14” x 22” (this is half of a standard sheet of poster board). Display boards may be no larger than 18” x 48” (this is a small size display board, or half of a standard display board.)
    • Exhibit bases for 3-D vertical displays may be no larger than 24” x 24”. A vertical display is defined as an exhibit with a solid base where the exhibit itself rises up. (Small engines, self-determined or other)
  • Unless otherwise specified under the Division Title all classes are available to each 4-H age group and are entered:
  • Arts & Crafts projects will not go on to ENMSF.
    • Section N – Novice members
    • Section J – Junior members
    • Section S – Senior members

Legos. Fair will not provide material for bases. Secure Legos to a base to prevent Legos from coming apart or falling off when moved. Entries no larger than 12” wide and 18” long x 16” high. Entries will not be accepted if larger than specified size, NO EXCEPTIONS.


All livestock and indoor exhibitors are required to participate in at least 1 cleanup day 2 weeks prior to fair. They will also be required at the time to verify their entries with office staff. Any exception must be approved by the Fair
